Drumlanrig 2004
22nd August at the magnificent setting of Drumlanrig Castle and yet another brilliant sunny day. Hopes were high as the HiMBA youngsters set off on the 6th round of the SXC. The hardy ones camped out in the tranquil country surroundings - no, not even the nocturnal combine harvesters, the mad cow in labour (or heat?), all night tractors and the hourly striking of the village clock could spoil this weekend!
One benefit of being up all night was the opportunity to scan the crystal clear night sky for stars.....but not these three!!!
And Ian tries to hide his six-pack from the night before.
Robert and Stephen show no signs of the poor night's sleep and are ready for the off.
The final challenge before the finish line ( ie in full view of the watching crowds) was this steep bank - so Steve shows Morven how it should have been done!
