Contin TrailsContin
Alongside all the developments at Learnie, there’s also been good progress on the development of Club Trails at Contin. HiMBA has now entered into a formal user agreement with FCS, allowing us to further develop the trails for club members. There have been a few inevitable hoops to jump through to get to this stage. For example, the agreement requires us carry out any work within agreed safety guidelines, and to have plans approved for any new structures before we go ahead and build them. Similar conditions are likely to underpin the agreement we’ll have to maintain and extend the Learnie trails. At both sites, we’re now developing plans for organising trail inspection and maintenance crews, and looking for volunteers to help with these. So please do be patient and work with the Committee on this, as we don’t want the sudden appearance of new dirt jumps or trail features to spoil any new partnerships with FCS.
Health & Safety Policy
Our agreement with FCS over Contin also required is to have a HiMBA Health & Safety Policy. This has just been agreed at the latest Committee meeting and will be available on the web site with other club documents. All members are encouraged to read this, but we’re especially keen for parents of under 18 riders to check out the document.
